What we cannot ship, and what needs extra documentation.

Restricted is not the same as prohibited

International carriers such as DHL and FedEx restrict or prohibit certain items from crossing borders by air. The categories below reflect common industry-wide restrictions — always check with our support team before purchasing something you are unsure about.

Flammables & hazardous materials

  • Aerosols and pressurized containers
  • Lighters, matches and fuel
  • Fireworks and explosives
  • Compressed gas cylinders

Weapons & ammunition

  • Firearms and firearm parts
  • Ammunition of any kind
  • Replica or toy weapons resembling real firearms
  • Knives classified as weapons under destination law

Currency & financial instruments

  • Cash and coins
  • Traveler's cheques
  • Bearer bonds and negotiable instruments
  • Gift cards in bulk quantities

Perishables & organic material

  • Fresh food, meat, seafood or dairy
  • Live plants, seeds and soil
  • Live animals or animal products
  • Items requiring refrigeration

Counterfeit & restricted intellectual property

  • Counterfeit branded goods
  • Pirated media or software
  • Items infringing trademarks or patents

Batteries & power sources

  • Standalone lithium batteries (not installed in a device)
  • Damaged or recalled batteries
  • Large quantities of battery packs
  • Devices with non-removable batteries may need special handling — see below

Liquids, gels & aerosols

  • Liquids over standard carrier volume limits
  • Perfumes and alcohol-based liquids in large quantities
  • Flammable or corrosive liquids
  • Pressurized cosmetic aerosols

Other commonly restricted items

  • Tobacco and vaping products
  • Prescription medication without documentation
  • Adult content in most destinations
  • Items banned under destination-country import law

Some items are not fully banned but need extra documentation, special packaging, or are only allowed in limited quantities. When in doubt, contact support before your package ships rather than after.
